Eloquent 一词源自拉丁语eloqui（响亮或清楚地说），由前缀 e- （加强）+词根 loqu （说话）+后缀 -ent （具有……性质的、关于……的）构成，14世纪末经古法语eloquent进入英语后即用来表示“雄辩的、口才流利的、能言善辩的”，常指人说话流畅有力，以热情动人的语言表达进行强烈的情感刺激，特别是在公共场合中，
