Eloquent 一词源自拉丁语eloqui(响亮或清楚地说),由前缀 e- (加强)+词根 loqu (说话)+后缀 -ent (具有……性质的、关于……的)构成,14世纪末经古法语eloquent进入英语后即用来表示“雄辩的、口才流利的、能言善辩的”,常指人说话流畅有力,以热情动人的语言表达进行强烈的情感刺激,特别是在公共场合中,
