covert等结尾相同的单词，该词源自拉丁语avertere（转过去、驱赶、避开、使疏远），15世纪中期经古法语avertir进入英语后也是用来表示“转移”或者说“把……转到另一边去”，主要指将目光、想法、注意力等转向别处，以从肉体上或精神上远离眼前的事物，常含有一种强烈的回避意味，甚至是反感，
